Fish is a cooperative effort begun in 1973 by civic leaders and churches. Over the years, Fish programs have assisted with clothing, transportation, medicine, food and shelter. The organization is run by volunteers and funded by private donations, foundation grants, fundraising events, and local churches & businesses. The number of persons served by Fish annually increased from 4,968 in 1981 to over 30,000 in 2021 and continues to grow.
Fish wants to reach out to folks in need AND to those who want to volunteer their time, talents and resources to help others.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation.
